The planet is experiencing a reduction in arable land leading to reduced yields and lower nutrition because of soil degradation, climate change, declining water availability & erratic temperature patterns. Because of this we’ll need to grow more of our perishable crops in protected environments. Additionally some 80% of global deforestation is a result of agricultural production, which is also the leading cause of habitat destruction.
